Hello, I am Sophie
Project manager. Parent. An expat residing in Rotterdam, Netherlands.
Several years ago, I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary contract gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.
How It All Began
Moving to Netherlands wasn't in our long-term plans. Like many expat relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far more significant.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, new expectations. Daily tasks seemed more complex than they needed to be.
The Adjustment Phase
There was culture shock, doubt, and plenty of hands-on learning. Yet, gradually routines took shape. We found places that suited us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt steady.
Why I Started DuloLinMovaHaroveli
Most information online was either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism content. What was lacking was a genuine, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical advice grounded in real life in Netherlands.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site is:
- Real-world experience from living in Netherlands
- Centered on family life and everyday realities
- Updated when something meaningful changes
This site isn't:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- A sponsored review platform
- Not just another generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our time in Netherlands continues, and so does the learning process. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Rotterdam or anywhere in Netherlands, don’t hesitate to reach out.
Best regards,
Sophie
